As we grow older and mature, we come to realize that true growth in life—both professionally and personally—is only possible when shared. Those who claim to have achieved something entirely on their own, without anyone’s help, are overlooking a beautiful and sincere truth: growth is a result of collaboration. And here lies an essential truth that many ignore or shy away from in their journey: asking for and accepting help is an act of courage.

Since founding Hope Rising®, another truth has become increasingly evident to me, and it’s something I’d like to share: trusting others is fundamental. The more time passes, the more I realise the importance of believing in the talents each of us possesses. In the world of fashion, for instance, the creation of a single piece of clothing involves various teams and professionals: the factory that produces the material, the label suppliers, the seamstresses, the packaging company, the distributor, and so many others. Each of these individuals has travelled a unique path that has made them experts in what they do.

There are so many variables and people involved in creating just one piece of clothing that, without trust, none of it would be possible. Believing that each group is a specialist in their area and that you don’t need to do everything on your own is crucial for success. More than that, trusting others is an inherently human act and part of every social cycle. Whether it’s creating a music album or building an aircraft, from the simplest to the most complex tasks, none of us can create something meaningful without help from others.

Trusting in yourself and in the talents of others is what truly makes us human. I know it’s not easy; many of us tend to want to do everything with our own hands, but that’s not sustainable. In fact, the most beautiful and significant creations ever made were only possible because a group of people came together and believed in the power of collaboration.

So, remember: you don’t have to do it all alone. Just as someone needs to believe in you, you also need to believe in others. How about taking that first step?
